Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2)
We have two classes in year one and two classes in year two. Our children are well prepared as they enter Key Stage One and they are ready to explore a variety of topics over their time in Key Stage One.

Useful websites to support learning
Below you will find a range of websites to support your child's learning.
PHONICS
This video shows you how to correctly pronounce the phoneme (letter sound) for all letters in the alphabet and their different representations. Phases 2 to 4.
This is a good video for the alternative graphemes (spellings) of some sounds when the children get to Phase 5 in their Phonics.
READING/WRITING
Oxford Owl - good for supporting both the decoding side of reading and comprehension skills, writing and other areas of learning.
Pobble 365 - for writing inspiration and developing language and discussion skills.
The Literacy Shed - videos, pictures and photos to inspire writing, develop language and discussion skills. There is a specific KS1 'shed'.
The BBC has a specific website called BBC Teach, it has ideas and resources for English and other subjects at each Key Stage.
MATHS
Numbots - All round reinforcing of number and place value.
Topmarks - interactive games to reinforce number bonds, times tables and plenty more. 'Hit the Button' is particularly good! Good for other areas of learning as well.
Youtube - search 'Numberjacks' to find videos with times tables songs. Search 'Laugh along and learn' for cover songs for all times tables, e.g. Justin Timberlake's Can't Stop the feeling for 2 times table and Scratch Garden for counting in 2s, 5s, 10s etc.
FOUNDATION SUBJECTS
BBC Bitesize is good for explaining concepts in subjects such as Science, RE and History at a level that makes it easier for younger children to grasp.
